India Block Jantar Mantar Protest: Rahul Gandhi reaches Jantar Mantar, will protest with opposition MPs, Delhi Congress President detained

India Block Jantar Mantar Protest LIVE: India Block will protest again today demanding the removal of Chief Election Commissioner i.e. CEC Gyanesh Kumar. Under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, MPs from opposition parties (including India Bloc) including Congress have reached Jantar Mantar. Rahul Gandhi's protest has started at Jantar Mantar. India Block MPs including Rahul-Priyanka reached the protest site in a bus. Rahul said- Gyanesh Kumar is not a legitimate election commissioner. They will have to move.

Here the police has detained Delhi Congress President Devendra Yadav. He said, 'Peaceful protest has become a crime in this country. Until Gyanesh Kumar resigns, we will continue to protest on the streets.

Rahul said- Yesterday we wanted to meet the Election Commissioners. Delhi Police stopped us and said that you cannot protest here. So we have decided that we will go to Jantar Mantar. Gyanesh Kumar is not the legitimate CEC of this country. I am telling you, Gyanesh Kumar will have to resign. There are currently 45 FIRs against me, I want 100 FIRs.

Kharge said that we will go to the entire country regarding this issue. We want to tell the entire country that your rights are being lost. We will keep fighting for this. We are going to be scared. We are all a team together. While Congress MP KC Venugopal said, they should register thousands of FIRs. We are proud that we are fighting to protect the democracy of the country. Actually, an FIR has been lodged against Rahul-Priyanka for protesting at Akashvani Bhawan on 6th October.

Let us tell you that a day after the protest by India Bloc demanding the removal of Gyanesh Kumar, Congress had organized a lunch for the MPs of India Bloc. Opposition MPs had lunch at Sagar Ratna restaurant on Janpath at around 1:30 pm. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge had invited India Block MPs for lunch. In view of the one-day protest of the opposition and the track record of Rahul Gandhi, Delhi Police had deployed a large number of policemen.

A day before, there was a dharna for 8 hours in Akashvani premises.

A day earlier, on 6 October, more than 200 MPs of India Bloc had marched from Parliament to the Election Commission office. However, Delhi Police had stopped them by placing barricades near Akashvani office. As soon as possible, Rahul and Priyanka entered the Akashvani premises. There was a dharna for 8 hours in both the Akashvani premises. However, an FIR has been registered against both of them for forcibly entering the premises.
