Stuttgart reveal Mittelstädt needed stitches after victory over Paderborn

VfB Stuttgart have announced that Maximilian Mittelstädt will be sidelined until further notice after sustaining an injury in Saturday’s 2-0 win over SC Paderborn.

Maximilian Mittelstädt suffered an injury during VfB Stuttgart’s 2-0 win over SC Paderborn in the Bundesliga on Saturday.

As Stuttgart announced after the game, the left-back sustained a laceration to his right heel during a challenge.

As a result, Mittelstädt required stitches after the match and will be sidelined “for the time being”, the club confirmed.

The 29-year-old has featured in every competitive match for Stuttgart so far this season across the Bundesliga, UEFA Champions League and DFB-Pokal.

Stuttgart will continue their campaign with an away trip to face Slovan Bratislava in the Champions League on Wednesday.
