Lucknow. There is relief news for small and marginal farmers of Uttar Pradesh. Under the Chief Minister Krishak Samriddhi Yojana, farmers will now be able to get long term loans at low interest rates for agriculture and related works. Under the scheme, the loan available at earlier 11 percent interest rate has been reduced to 6 percent. Its objective is to provide easy financial assistance to the farmers for farming and other agriculture related works.
Target to provide benefits to five lakh farmers
Chief Minister Krishak Samridhi Yojana was launched by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on 23 September. This scheme is being implemented through Uttar Pradesh Cooperative Village Development Bank (LDB). A target has been set to provide its benefits to five lakh farmers in the next five years.
Under the scheme, the process of releasing Rs 38 crore to the bank for giving subsidy on agricultural loans from the government is also proposed. Farmers will be able to apply to avail the benefits of the scheme through 323 branches of LDB in the state.
Which farmers will get the benefit of the scheme?
Small and marginal farmers with agricultural land up to two hectares will be eligible for the scheme. According to available information, eligible farmers can get a maximum loan of up to Rs 6 lakh for a period of five years. Six percent interest will be charged from farmers who pay installments on time. This amount can be used for farming and related eligible works.

Interested farmers can apply online by visiting the official portal of Chief Minister Krishak Samridhi Yojana. Apart from this, information can also be obtained by contacting the nearest Uttar Pradesh Cooperative Gram Vikas Bank branch.
