Flood of faith gathered in Vindhyadham on the first day of Shardiya Navratri, three lakh devotees saw the Mother Goddess.

Vindhyachal, 11 October. On Sunday, the first day of Shardiya Navratri, there was a flood of faith in Maa Vindhyavasini Devi Dham. The process of darshan and worship started after Mangala Aarti, which was likely to continue till late night. Till now, on the first day of the fair, information has come out that about three lakh devotees have visited and worshiped Mother Vindhyavasini. Due to Sunday being a holiday and the first day of Navratri, a huge crowd of devotees was seen in the entire Vindhyachal Dham.

There were long queues of devotees in all the five streets leading to Maa Vindhyavasini temple. At many places, queues of devotees were seen for more than half a kilometre. The devotees, carrying coconuts, chunri and prasad in their hands, moved forward slowly and waited for their turn to reach the court of the Mother Goddess. The entire Vindhyachal Dham became filled with devotion due to the chants of Mother Goddess echoing in the queues.

After reaching the temple, some were having darshan of the tableau, while some were considering themselves fortunate to see the mother from the first and second entrance. After darshan and worship, devotees were seen returning to their homes with reverence and faith. At the same time, devotees also took a dip of faith at the Ganga ghats.

Corridor becomes center of attraction

Vindhya Corridor remained the main center of attraction for the devotees during the Navratri fair. The corridor played an important role in providing better transportation and convenient transportation of the devotees to the temple. It is being considered helpful in maintaining orderly traffic among the crowd and for the convenience of the visitors.

Efforts were made to reunite people separated from their families with their families through announcement devices installed at various places in the fair. Besides, they were also used in handling the arrangements of the fair by giving necessary information to the devotees.

The administration remained ready

In view of the huge influx of devotees on the first day of Navratri, police and district administration officers and employees were busy handling the arrangements. Crowds of passengers started arriving in parking lots, guest houses, restaurants and guest buildings from Saturday itself. On Sunday, there was continuous movement of devotees in the temple premises, streets and surrounding major roads. Vindhyachal Dham looked completely devotional due to the crowd of devotees who came with the desire to have the darshan of Maa Vindhyavasini.
