Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) MP Sanjay Raut has apologized for his statements about the Supreme Court and Chief Justice Surya Kant. Sanjay Raut said, “I have never insulted the court in my life. I may have uttered some words here and there in anger; but I had no intention of insulting the court. I apologize to the Supreme Court ten times.”
Sanjay Raut further said that the events happening around us make the mind restless and generate anger. He claimed that this feeling is not just his, but millions of people in the country also have such anger. He clarified that if he has spoken any words in anger, he apologises.
Raut had raised questions on the behavior of judges after Chief Justice Surya Kant refused to meet leaders of opposition parties. He had given the statement that judges go to political events of BJP and the Chief Minister hosts food for the judges. After these statements, the Supreme Court on October 15 asked Raut to explain his behaviour.
