Manoj Bajpayee's new film 'Gajab Raat'
Manoj Bajpayee, who is considered one of the leading actors of Bollywood, is all set to make a comeback with his new suspense thriller film. This film to be released on Netflix has been named 'Gajab Raat', about which there is a lot of curiosity among the audience. The makers have also recently released the trailer of the film. Earlier the title of this film was 'Ghooshkhor Pandit', which was embroiled in controversies and after that the name had to be changed due to legal reasons. In this film, Manoj Bajpayee and famous director Neeraj Pandey are working together again after almost a decade.
Story of 'Gazab Raat'
The film depicts the story of a police officer who is torn between his personal gain and the right thing to do. As the night progresses, his decisions lead to events that have consequences more serious than he could have imagined. The story highlights moral dilemmas, shifting loyalties and the cost of decisions.
'Bribered Pandit' controversy
The earlier title of 'Gajab Raat' was 'Ghooskhor Pandit', which had come into controversy in February. Due to allegations of hurting religious and caste sentiments, an FIR was registered against the film's director and his team at Hazratganj police station in Lucknow. Disturbing social harmony and hurting religious sentiments were mentioned in the complaint. There was protest against this film in Bhopal also and there was a demand to ban it, after which the matter reached the Supreme Court and the producers had to decide to change the name.
Collaboration of Neeraj Pandey and Manoj Bajpayee
Neeraj Pandey and Netflix have come together once again through 'Gajab Raat'. Even before this, he has worked on projects like 'Khaki', 'Sikandar Ka Muqaddar' and 'Taskari' on this platform. Neeraj Pandey said, “An interesting story should not only engage you but also make you think. 'Gajab Raat' is a thriller in which the characters' decisions take them to a point where there are no easy answers.”

'Gajab Raat' is the first film made under the direction of Ritesh Shah. He said, “I've always loved thrillers that throw you into a situation. The story of this film takes place over one night, which gave us an opportunity to create urgency and raise the stakes.”

Produced by Neeraj Pandey's 'Friday Film Works', 'Gajab Raat' stars Manoj Bajpayee along with an ensemble cast including Saqib Saleem, Akshay Oberoi, Divya Dutta, Kiku Sharda and Nushrat Bharucha. This film will premiere on Netflix on October 23.
