During his visit, Amit Shah will meet three families whose cases are in the news for raising their voice against drug addiction and the controversies related to it.

1. Manasa: Meeting Jhota's family

Amit Shah will reach Water Works Road, Ward No. 21 of Mansa at 12 noon. Here he will meet the family of anti-drug activist Parvinder Singh 'Jhota'.

2. Sangrur: Meeting with Gulzar Singh's family

After Mansa, Amit Shah will reach Hardam Patti of Toor Banjara village of Sangrur at 1:15 pm. Here he will meet Gulzar Singh's family.

According to the report, after asking Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Cheema questions on the drug issue, Gulzar Singh had accused the local Sarpanch and police of pressurizing and harassing him. After this he committed suicide.

3. Gurdaspur: Will meet Bikramjit Singh's family

The third stop of Amit Shah's tour will be Maadi Panwan village of Batala area of Gurdaspur district. He will reach here around 3:15 pm and will meet the family of Bikramjit Singh.

The action committee formed in the case of murder of Parvinder Singh 'Jhota' had objected to Amit Shah's visit to Mansa and his meeting with Jhota's family. However, Jhota's father Bhim Singh disagreed with this protest.

Bhim Singh said that getting justice for his son is his priority and there should be no opposition to any political leader coming to the protest. He said that if Amit Shah is opposed, it will be like opposing his family.

Expressing confidence in the Union Home Minister, he also expressed hope for early action and CBI investigation in the matter. According to Bhim Singh, he was not aware of the decision taken in the Action Committee meetings regarding Amit Shah's protest.

He also said that now his daughter-in-law Manpreet will sit in his place in the action committee.

Amit Shah's visit is considered important amid political allegations and counter-allegations regarding the drug problem and related matters in Punjab. The Centre's stand on this issue is expected to be revealed through meeting the families of the victims in three districts and through a symbolic program against drug addiction.
