Be it the untold stories related to the city's heritage or the taste of local cuisine, centuries-old traditions or the little-known places that have remained away from the eyes of tourists, through the 'Visit My State Uttar Pradesh' campaign, there is a preparation to show the state from the eyes of those who know their city and its identity best. Local residents themselves can appear on camera and share their city's special experiences and characteristics as stories. The aim of this initiative is not to limit the identity of a place to just pictures and information, but to convey its real story to a wider audience through the voices and experiences of the people there.
Tourism will gain wings through digital medium
Keeping in view the changing ways of exploring and knowing about tourist destinations among the youth, UP Tourism has decided to take this campaign forward through reels. At present, young people are increasingly giving importance to short videos, people's experiences and opinions of content creators before planning a trip. Such experiences shared on digital platforms are not only giving a unique identity to popular tourist destinations, but also making lesser-known destinations reach a wider audience. The aim of the 'Visit My State Uttar Pradesh' campaign is to give a new dimension to this digital interest by connecting it with the tourism of the state.

Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh said that 'the cultural identity of Uttar Pradesh is not limited only to its famous tourist destinations. Every district, city and village of the state has its own story and identity. The local food traditions, handicrafts, festivals, customs, people and the stories associated with them bring alive the rich cultural heritage of Uttar Pradesh. He further said that through the 'Visit My State' campaign, an initiative is being taken to make Gen-Ji and other youth of the state the cultural ambassadors of their respective cities. The youth will present the specialties of their city to the world in their voices and words, giving visitors an opportunity to know Uttar Pradesh in a more interesting and new perspective.
Tell the story of your city in 60 seconds
The process of participating in the campaign has also been kept very simple for the youth. The participants will have to present the unique identity and story of their city in their own voice through a reel of maximum 60 seconds. In the video, it will be necessary for the participant to appear in front of the camera, in which his face is clearly visible and his voice is clearly heard. The special thing is that instead of any fixed script, the youth will tell the story of the city in their own words and in their own style. The reel will be shot in an open space, where a major tourist spot of the city or a special place related to its identity is visible in the background. Participants can prepare their reel in any language, Hindi or English. It will be mandatory to say 'Visit My State Uttar Pradesh' at the end of each video.

He said that through just a 60-second reel, the character of a place, the individual's own voice and the local experience can be effectively presented. Popular places will also get wider recognition. Amrit Abhijat said that such small stories coming forward from the youth will together present the diversity of faith, rich heritage, natural beauty, cuisine and handicrafts of Uttar Pradesh to the country and the world.
For example, a resident of Lucknow can tell about the food, chikankari, old neighborhoods or cultural places of his city. Similarly, the youth of Braj, Bundelkhand, Purvanchal and Terai region can bring the traditions, local specialties and tourism experiences of their respective cities to the world. This initiative is an effort to bring the major tourist destinations of the state in front of the world.
