Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab's chief spokesperson and MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal has launched a scathing attack on Akali Dal and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on the serious issue of drug addiction. In a statement, Dhaliwal said that the Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has waged a big 'war' to eliminate drug addiction. The government has put thousands of smugglers in jail.
Politics to defame the government
On the issue of SIT summoning Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia, Dhaliwal said that Jagdish Bhola and Bikram Majithia should be interrogated face to face to bring out the truth of the case. He made it clear that strictest action will be taken against those bringing drugs into Punjab as per the law. Speaking on the politics being done by the opposition parties on the drug issue and the interference of the Centre, Minister Dhaliwal said that the opposition parties are doing politics only to defame the Bhagwant Mann government, whereas the people of Punjab know very well the real campaign launched by the government against drugs.
Punjab has to be made drug free
Rejecting the allegations of vendetta politics by Akali Dal, Dhaliwal said that the aim of Mann government is not political revenge but to make Punjab drug-free. If a false case had to be registered, the government could have done it earlier, but the investigation is going on with complete transparency. He said that whether it is a leader or a big officer like dismissed AIG Rajjit Singh, who has pushed the youth of Punjab to death, they will be punished for their crimes, if not today or tomorrow.

Dhaliwal further said that Punjab has a border of 532 kilometers with Pakistan. Out of which the border area of 50 kilometers comes under the BSF of the Central Government. To stop drones, weapons and drugs coming from across the border, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had demanded the Center to install anti-drone system and seal the border, but the Central Government is running away from its responsibility.
