Nagpur: On the complaint of Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Ganesh Peth police of Nagpur has registered a case against two drug dealer brothers of the city. The Food and Drug Administration team has registered an FIR against shopkeepers selling abortion drugs illegally in the drug market. During the raid of the pharmaceutical department, banned medicines were found with the vendors. Let us tell you that the medicines found from the vendors can be consumed only on the advice of a doctor.
No record of purchase and sale of medicines was found with the drug dealers.
The Food and Drugs Department has alleged that both these drug dealers were selling abortion medicines without doctor’s prescription. The drug administration team and the police department have taken this action in the drug market of Nagpur. During investigation, the drug dealers failed to produce any records or required documents of purchase and sale of the concerned medicines. After which the department and police took action against the vendors.
Food and Drug Administration’s effort to scan the entire network
During the interrogation conducted by the Drugs Department, the drug sellers were not able to give any satisfactory answer, after which the police registered a case against them. A joint investigation is being conducted by the Police and the Food and Drug Administration on where this stock of banned claims was brought from, to whom it was sold, and whether any other person is involved in the entire business.
Different agencies are taking swift action
Let us tell you that these days all the food safety and other agencies of the country are taking swift action against those who violate the rules. Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration had recently suspended the licenses of 5 bakeries. These included the famous Bimbo Bristol Bakery. Bristol Bakery is a subsidiary of Jimmy Boy, a nearly 100-year-old Parsi restaurant based in Fort.
Special operation conducted in July
In a major operation conducted across the state on July 28 and 29, the FDA raided several dairy units in Maharashtra and seized adulterated milk and other dairy products worth approximately Rs 2,90,668. In this action, 2,862 liters of milk and 373.85 kg of dairy products (paneer and kulfi) were seized from areas like Palghar, Thane, Mumbai, Raigarh, Pune and Sangli. Strict legal action will be taken against all of them under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.
