Minister of State for Higher Education Rajni Tiwari narrowly escaped, MLA Brijesh Rawat's hands burnt, accident in BJP's 'Mashal Yatra'

Unnao. BJP MLA Brijesh Rawat from Mohan Assembly Constituency and worker Milan Pandey were injured during the Mashal Yatra organized under 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan' at Gandhinagar intersection in Unnao district of UP. Due to excessive chemical content in the torch, both of them got seriously injured due to burning of their hands. The event was organized by the BJP to mark the Prime Minister's completion of 25 years of public service and good governance. Unnao district in-charge and Minister of State for Higher Education Rajni Tiwari narrowly escaped in this accident. The injured were immediately rushed to the district hospital, where after first aid the MLA was sent home.

BJP workers started the torch march after watching the live telecast of the Prime Minister from Gandhinagar intersection. As soon as the yatra started, a fire suddenly spread due to the strong chemical filled in the torch, due to which both the hands of MLA Brijesh Rawat got badly burnt. Minister Rajni Tiwari, who was standing near him, was saved in time, but another worker was injured.

First aid done in hospital

Immediately after the incident, party workers admitted injured MLA Brijesh Rawat and worker Milan Pandey to the district hospital. The team of doctors started treating him immediately. During this time, a large number of party workers and leaders including District Panchayat President Shakun Singh and BJP District President were present in the hospital.

MLA narrated his ordeal

After treatment, Mohan MLA Brijesh Rawat told that during the Jyoti Mashal Yatra, his hands got burnt due to excessive chemicals being filled in the torch. He told that the skin on his hands had fallen off due to burns. Doctors gave injections and medicines as part of first aid, after which he was discharged from the hospital.
