Administration will be involved in the security of CM Maryam, exams of students postponed

Desk: Due to the visit of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to Punjab province of Pakistan, the examination of students has been postponed. Rawalpindi's Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) has canceled the Computer Science paper to be held on November 10. These papers were part of the second annual examination of Intermediate Second Year-2026. Now these examinations will be held on 30th November.

This decision has been taken in view of the visit of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to Jhelum and Pind Dadan Khan on November 10. Jhelum Deputy Commissioner had recommended postponing the examination. After this, Rawalpindi Board changed the date of paper of both morning and evening shifts in Jhelum district.

According to the newspaper Dawn, the Deputy Commissioner of Jhelum had written a letter to the Chairman of Rawalpindi Board demanding postponement of the Computer Science exam. It was said in the letter that the district administration is making preparations on a large scale for the Chief Minister's visit. This includes arrangements related to security, administrative arrangements and protocol.

  • According to the Deputy Commissioner, a large number of government officials and security personnel will be deployed for these preparations. In such a situation, it will be difficult to conduct the examination in the district without any hindrance. Therefore, to save the students from trouble and to make proper arrangements for the Chief Minister's visit, a demand was made to change the date of the examination.

On the recommendation of the Deputy Commissioner, Rawalpindi Board has fixed November 30 as the new date for the November 10 paper. Board spokesperson Arsalan Cheema gave this information. He told that Controller of Examinations Mubashir Saeed has issued a notice regarding the new date. On November 30, the morning shift paper will be held in the morning and the evening shift paper will be held in the evening. Both the examinations will be conducted at pre-determined examination centers only. This change has been made only for Jhelum district. In other districts under Rawalpindi Board, examinations will be held on November 10 as per the already decided schedule.

Controller of Examinations Mubashir Saeed said that new roll number slips will be issued for the convenience of the students. However, the slips issued earlier will also remain valid. This means that students will be able to take the exam with the old slip also. With this decision, students of Jhelum district will have to wait 20 days more for the Computer Science paper.
