A big trade deal will be held in Punjab-Mumbai

According to a new report from Cricbuzz, the deal between Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings is almost finalized. The franchises have now finalized the agreement and sent a letter to the BCCI. But, the money is yet to be discussed between the players, after which the contract can be signed and announced. According to social media, the official announcement of the deal could be made within 72 hours. However, currently both the teams are considering one player each in this transaction.

With the arrival of Hardik Pandya as a fast bowling all-rounder, Punjab Kings will get an Indian fast bowling all-rounder. However, Pandya will play only as a player in this team. Shreyas Iyer is likely to retain the captaincy of Punjab Kings. Iyer also currently captains the Indian team in the T20 format.

Mumbai Indians team will be stronger

The biggest weakness of Mumbai Indians in IPL 2026 is their bowling. Jasprit Bumrah, the main fast bowler of the team, was not getting support from other bowlers. The inclusion of Arshdeep Singh in the squad can strengthen Mumbai Indians' bowling. Also, they will not need to play Trent Boult in the final XI. This allows team management to play Will Jacks as an all-rounder. However, Mumbai will retain Corbin Bosh as their fast bowling all-rounder.

However, after this trade, Mumbai Indians will have to find a new captain. Currently former captain Rohit Sharma seems to be leading the race. Tilak Verma may also be appointed as the team's new vice-captain. Currently, the Mumbai team is preparing its squad with the future in mind.
