After BrahMos, now indigenous ‘Pinaka’ shines! 12 countries lined up to buy this deadly rocket launcher of India – ..

India is continuously writing a new chapter of self-reliance in the defense sector. After the BrahMos and Astra missiles that created a stir across the world, India’s indigenous ‘Pinaka Multi-Barrel Rocket Launcher System’ (MBRS) is going to become the next big Brahmastra of defense exports. According to Defense Ministry sources, at present about 12 countries are showing keen interest in purchasing this state-of-the-art and highly accurate weapon of India. India can soon finalize big export deals with its friendly countries regarding this rocket system prepared under the ‘Make in India’ initiative, which will give a new and strong flight to the defense production sector.

Malaysia, Philippines and Thailand are at the forefront

Seeing the increasing demand for Pinaka system in the international market, many Asian countries are eager to include it in their armies. According to reports, at present Malaysia, Philippines and Thailand are leading in the race to buy it. The graph of India’s defense exports has gone up rapidly in the last few years. The biggest example of this is that India has recently agreed to sell BrahMos and Astra missiles to Indonesia, while the Philippines has already received a successful consignment of BrahMos missiles from India.

Indigenous technology and Pinaka’s infallible firepower

Pinaka Rocket Launcher is a completely brilliant example of Indian technology. It is developed by Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO), while it is manufactured by major Indian companies like Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) and Larsen & Toubro (L&T). It is already being used operationally in the Indian Army.

Talking about the power of Pinaka, this system is known for its lethal capability:

  • Speed: This system is fully capable of firing 12 dangerous rockets simultaneously within just 44 seconds.

  • Accurate Aim: With the base version, it can attack the enemy sitting 40 kilometers away with utmost accuracy with the help of GPS and INS guidance technology.

  • rescue system: It is equipped with ‘Shoot and Scoot’ capability, that is, immediately after firing, the launching vehicle changes its position rapidly, so that the enemy can avoid counter-attack.

  • Destruction: It has been designed to destroy enemy bunkers, heavy weapons depots and ground military bases in a matter of seconds.

World’s largest Muslim countries become followers of BrahMos

Along with Pinaka, the list of foreign buyers of BrahMos missile is also getting longer. Interestingly, many big Muslim countries of the world are continuously trying to buy BrahMos from India. After Philippines and Vietnam, Indonesia, the world’s largest Muslim majority country, is going to become the third largest global customer of BrahMos missile. Along with this, Gulf country United Arab Emirates (UAE) has also expressed its desire to include this dangerous missile in its fleet. Overall, about half a dozen countries are standing in the queue to buy BrahMos, which is a clear indication of India’s growing military diplomacy at the global level.
