Desk. Aman Sehrawat has created history by winning the gold medal for the country in men's 57 kg freestyle wrestling. He has defeated Han Chong Song of North Korea in the final. This match was very exciting and full of ups and downs, in which Aman won on the basis of his intelligence, excellent play and a brilliant comeback. This is the second wrestling gold medal for India in this competition, after Sujit Kalkal's success. Earlier yesterday, Sujit Kalkal had won the gold medal in free style boxing.
Aman looked very alert and in rhythm since the beginning of the match. In the first round, the opposition wrestler 'Han' continuously tried to attack him, but Aman defended himself very intelligently. By defending as well as attacking at the right moments, Aman gained a strong lead of 6-1 in no time. At that time it seemed that Aman would win this match easily.
However, the real thrill of the game came when Han made a tremendous comeback a minute into the second half. Aman came under some pressure due to Han's sudden sharp attacks. The opponent wrestler made six consecutive points by making one move after another, due to which Aman lost the lead of 6-1 and fell behind by 6-7. At this juncture the match seemed to be slipping out of India's hands. It seemed that the gold medal would be lost from Aman's hands.
Aman Sehrawat did not lose courage and played his best bet at the right time. Despite the pressure, he kept himself calm and made an excellent move and scored 4 points at once. This brilliant move completely turned the tables of the match and gave Aman the lead again.
After this, the North Korean coach challenged the decision, which was rejected after checking. As per the rules, due to failure of the challenge, Aman got 1 more point. In this way, Aman strengthened his lead and finally registered a spectacular victory and won the gold medal for India. India has so far won 20 gold medals in this Asian Games.
