Just after Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan stepped down from the post, on the evening of July 25, Pralhad Joshi has been given the charge of the new Education Ministry of the country. President Draupadi Murmu has officially accepted the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on the advice and recommendation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Along with this, instructions were also issued by Rashtrapati Bhavan that along with the work of his existing ministries, Cabinet Minister Prahlad Joshi will also have to handle the responsibility of the country’s Education Ministry as an additional charge. Let us tell you that Prahlad Joshi is an MP from the famous Dharwad Lok Sabha seat of Karnataka and is currently holding the responsibility as the Cabinet Minister of the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution as well as the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) in the Central Government. Apart from this, he is also the President of ‘International Solar Alliance’.

CJP’s sharp message: “The movement is over, but the voice of the youth is alive”

On the other hand, along with ending the ongoing student movement at Jantar Mantar, the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) has also given a very clear and strong message to the government. CJP spokesperson Saurabh Das said in clear words that whichever new minister now has the responsibility of the Education Ministry, he will have to give first priority to the issues of the students and youth of the country.

He said in a warning tone that if the government does not fulfill its promises, the youth of the country will once again return to the streets of Jantar Mantar and demand direct answers from the government. Saurabh Das said that this movement may have ended for the time being, but the voice of the youth and their struggle is not over yet. If the promises are not fulfilled, the students will not shy away from taking to the streets again. Meanwhile, there is also discussion in the political circles whether Sonam Wangchuk got full credit in this victory speech or not, because he remained hungry for 26 days demanding Pradhan’s resignation, due to which many questions have also been raised on the role of Abhijeet Deepke.

Why did Dharmendra Pradhan leave his post? Know the real reason for resignation

After all, why did former Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan leave his post, he has written in detail in his two-page resignation letter on social media. He said that his entire public life has always been dedicated to the improvement of the students, teachers and education system of the country. According to him, a strong and completely reliable education system is the biggest strength of the country.

Dharmendra Pradhan also told in his letter that as soon as complaints of irregularities were received in the NEET-UG examination held on May 3, 2026, the government immediately handed over the investigation to the CBI without any delay. Along with this, a big decision was taken to conduct the examination again and it was also announced to make the NEET examination a completely computer based examination (CBT) from next year.

In his resignation letter, Pradhan wrote that the future of crores of youth of the country is more important for him than holding any post. He said that he does not want the future of the students to be ruined by getting entangled in any kind of political conflict or legal dispute. With this deep thinking and responsibility, he decided to step down from his post.

This fierce agitation of students at Jantar Mantar in Delhi was going on continuously for the last several days. The fire of protests against paper leaks and alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations continued to spread across the country. This entire movement also got full support from the country’s well-known activist Sonam Wangchuk, who gave this movement a new and bigger identity at the national level through her indefinite hunger strike.

The matter became more heated when on July 20, during the ‘Chalo Sansad’ march, there were heated clashes between the protesters and the security forces and the videos related to it went viral like wildfire on social media. After these incidents, protests intensified in many other states of the country also. Amidst the increasing public pressure and the worsening situation, finally on Friday night the government took major action against 47 officials of NTA and the very next day, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan submitted his resignation.
