Air India Flight Fire Scare: Fire signal in the plane coming from Bengaluru to Delhi, breathing stopped in the air, safe landing.
There was panic at the national capital’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport on Thursday and security agencies came on alert mode when suddenly signs of fire were detected in the engine of an Air India flight coming from Bengaluru to Delhi. Seeing the seriousness of the threat, the airport authority immediately declared ‘Full Emergency’ without wasting a moment. In this extremely stressful and emergency situation, the chief pilot and crew members of the aircraft showed amazing intelligence and evacuated all the passengers and crew members safely, thereby averting a major air accident. ‘Fire alarm’ sounded in the cockpit just before reaching Delhi. According to the information received, this entire incident happened with Air India flight number AI2802, which had flown from Bengaluru to Delhi as per the scheduled schedule. When the plane was nearing the Delhi airfield and preparing for its landing, suddenly an engine fire signal started blinking on the panel in front of the pilot in the cockpit. As soon as the red danger signal was received, the pilot immediately contacted Delhi Air Traffic Control (ATC) and sought permission for emergency landing of the aircraft. As soon as the green signal was received from the ATC, several fire brigade vehicles, ambulances and special rescue teams at the airport were immediately deployed around the runway and put on alert. The pilot made a tight landing, all passengers and crew members were completely safe. Despite the intense tension created in the air, the pilot did not lose his temper and following all the stringent international rules of aviation safety, landed the plane on the runway of Delhi Airport in a very safe and controlled manner. The biggest and most reassuring thing is that during this entire ‘fire scare’, none of the passengers or crew members on board the plane suffered any scratches and everyone is completely safe. Immediately after the successful landing, all the passengers were safely evacuated through the emergency doors of the aircraft in a very normal and disciplined manner, avoiding panic. Air India confirmed, issued strict orders for investigation. After this serious incident, aviation regulator DGCA and the technical team of Air India immediately swung into action. Air India’s official spokesperson himself confirmed the incident and said that during the initial technical inspection, the signal and apprehension of fire received by the pilot was found to be completely correct, that is, the symptoms of fire were indeed present due to a technical fault in the engine. Considering the seriousness of the matter, the airline has immediately initiated a high-level technical investigation internally. Along with this, the aircraft has been currently grounded (stopped from flying) so that the real cause of the fault can be found out. The air passengers heaved a sigh of relief after the safe landing and praised the brilliant wisdom and bravery of the plane’s pilot.
