Akanksha Chamola’s separation from television actor Gaurav Khanna has continued to attract attention, even after she made it clear that the couple’s decision to part ways was a personal one. Speaking to Hindustan Times, Akanksha rejected claims that she discussed her marriage on Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa to generate publicity or boost the show’s ratings.
“I would never do something like this for PR,” she said, explaining that the reality show gave her an opportunity to speak honestly about a part of her life she had kept private. “The show I was a part of was about revealing your own self and speaking about things and secrets that you may have kept with you for a long time. That is exactly what I did. It was about being honest about my own journey, not creating a narrative,” she told the publication.
Akanksha also pointed to the legal aspects of the separation, saying she has already spoken about them and does not want to enter a cycle of constantly proving herself. “There are some things in life that you don’t need to constantly justify to everyone,” she said.
Akanksha Chamola Said, ‘I Choose Peace Over Explanation’
The actor has also acknowledged the intense public scrutiny surrounding her relationship with Gaurav. She recently asked paparazzi not to question her about her estranged husband, signalling that she would rather draw a boundary around the subject. “I’ve been dealing with public scrutiny for a very long time now,” Akanksha told Hindustan Times. “The reality is that there are certain things that only the people going through them truly know. I have said what I had to say. I choose peace over explanation.”
