Akhilesh Yadav and Rahul Gandhi should make it clear whether they are in favor of Uniform Civil Code or they will suffer from the disease of vote bank politics: Keshav Maurya.

Lucknow. Uttar Pradesh Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya has made a big attack on Congress. He said that just by discussing the Uniform Civil Code, the entire opposition in the Congress starts turning red. If every citizen is equal in the eyes of the Constitution, then Uniform Civil Code (UCC) is not a matter of any one party but is a matter of national importance.

Keshav Maurya wrote on social media For example, construction of a grand temple at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya and removal of Article 370, which were only dreams before 2014. Naxal-free India was only a matter of imagination. For the leftists, who had planned to build a Red Corridor from Pashupati to Tirupati, it remained a daydream and due to the strong will of the Modi government, 'Vande Mataram' is now being chanted in this corridor.

He further wrote, now it is a matter of Uniform Civil Code, the mere discussion of which makes the entire opposition including the Congress turn 'red-yellow'. If every citizen is equal in the eyes of the Constitution, then Uniform Civil Code (UCC) is not a matter of any one party but is a matter of national importance. Its objective is not to appease anyone, but to provide development to all and justice to all.

Apart from those doing so-called vote bank politics, no one should have any problem with UCC. SP's brave Akhilesh Yadav and Congress' all-round leader Rahul Gandhi should make it clear whether they are in favor of Uniform Civil Code or will continue to suffer from the disease of vote bank politics in the traditional way.
