Lucknow, 10 May. Samajwadi Party (SP) President and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Akhilesh Yadav took a dig at the cabinet expansion of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led Uttar Pradesh government going to be held on Sunday and said that when the government could not do anything in nine years, then what will the new ministers do in nine months. Before the cabinet expansion, the SP chief posted on the social media platform ‘X’ and asked, “There are only six vacancies in the cabinet, more than this there are people who have switched sides from other parties, will all of them be given ministerial posts?”
Akhilesh Yadav said, “If one of the many MLAs of a society is selected, then what will be the basis of selection? If this happens, what will happen to the other turncoats? Will their neglect and insult be appeased by giving anything? Or will they also be made to realize that BJP is not anyone’s relative?” He said, “Will the remaining left out people not feel cheated? And will they be left to show their face in their constituency? Apart from this, the question is also that what will happen to those poor people from their own party who have dried up and become a thorn in the flesh while waiting to become ministers?”
Akhilesh Yadav also said, “If the portfolios of the present ministers are reduced, will it not send a message to the public that because they have failed, the ministry has been snatched away from them? Won’t such ministers lose their elections without even fighting?” The SP chief said, “Will the allies get something else in place of waiting or will they be neglected by saying… you were the one whose support they were on, they are not yours… they are old thugs… you don’t know this truth….”
The SP President questioned that the public is also asking what these ministers will do in the last nine months, when the government could not do anything in the last nine years. Yadav said, “They will also do the same thing that the BJP government has been doing – corruption and atrocities. Attack on PDA (backward, Dalit, minority). Attack of inflation and unemployment. They will make life difficult.”
