Vijay becomes ‘Thalaivar’ of Tamil Nadu: Veterans including PM Modi, Rahul Gandhi congratulated the new Chief Minister
Chennai, May 10. South Indian cinema superstar turned politician Joseph Chandrashekhar Vijay has started a new era in the state’s politics by taking oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on Sunday. On this historic coronation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi have specially congratulated him and expressed their desire to work together for the development of the state.
Apart from these, many veteran leaders and actors have congratulated him. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu and veteran actor and leader Kamal Haasan have also sent their best wishes to Vijay on assuming the responsibility of the Chief Minister’s post. In his congratulatory message, Prime Minister Modi has expressed confidence that under the leadership of Vijay, Tamil Nadu will reach new heights of progress.
Congratulating him, Rahul Gandhi said that the trust with which the public has handed him power is a victory for democracy. Chief Ministers of neighboring states also showed warmth on the occasion. Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu congratulated Vijay and expressed hope of further strengthening inter-state relations. Seeing his ‘younger brother’ on the Chief Minister’s chair, Kamal Haasan gave emotional congratulations and called it a revolutionary change for Tamil politics.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge also congratulated Vijay on becoming the Chief Minister and said that the election of a popular actor as the Chief Minister is a proof of the unwavering love of the people. He is also getting tremendous support in the local political circles of Tamil Nadu. Prominent faces of the outgoing government and opposition leaders, including Udhayanidhi Stalin, BJP state president K. Annamalai and Seeman of ‘Nam Tamilar Kazhagam’ also congratulated Vijay on taking oath as the Chief Minister.
Vijay, who became the real ‘Thalaivar’ (chief) of the state from the ‘Ilaiah Thalapathy’ (young commander) of films, now has the weight of expectations of crores of people of Tamil Nadu on his shoulders. Actors R. Madhavan expressed his pride towards Vijay, the new Chief Minister of the state, by sharing a picture of him. He wrote in his post, “My dear brother, all the best to you. May your tenure as Chief Minister prove to be the most impactful and fruitful for our state. May God give you the strength to do all the work you want to do for the public good.”
Meanwhile, veteran actor Satyaraj wrote a long note calling Vijay’s victory ‘historic’. He said that this victory is an example for those who remain firm on their principles even in difficult times. He described this success as not just a political victory but a mandate for a new path and new hope for Tamil Nadu. Apart from these, actress Pooja Hegde has given her best wishes while addressing him as ‘Chief Minister Vijay Sir’.
Well-known actor Prakash Raj also shared a post on ‘X’ congratulating Vijay for the new responsibility and wished that the state becomes more prosperous under his rule. Whereas RJ Balaji expressed happiness while congratulating Vijay and his cabinet. He wrote that considering Vijay’s good intentions, he is looking forward to an inclusive and progressive government that will take this glorious state to the next level.
