The superhit pair of Bollywood’s Khiladi Kumar, Akshay Kumar, and renowned director Anees Bazmee, is once again set to rock theaters. They last worked together in the 2011 film “Thank You.” Now, after a gap of 15 years, the pair is returning with a new comedy film, “Keralaam.” Interestingly, the film also stars actress Vidya Balan, who previously worked with Akshay Kumar in the cult classic “Bhool Bhulaiyaa.” Anees Bazmee and Akshay Kumar have previously delivered blockbuster films like “Welcome” (2007) and “Singh Is Kinng” (2008).
‘Working with Akshay is very easy, but the morning schedule is challenging’
During a recent media interview, director Anees Bazmee spoke openly about his experience working with Akshay Kumar and his disciplined style. Anees said that working with Akshay Kumar is overall very easy and comfortable because he is extremely disciplined about his work. However, he also admitted that Akshay’s habit of starting shooting early in the morning does create a bit of a challenging environment for the entire film unit. A major advantage of starting work early in the morning is that shooting is completed on time and everyone gets time to relax in the evening.
When Akshay’s morning timing caused a big misunderstanding for the director
Sharing a funny anecdote about Akshay Kumar’s punctuality and habit of waking up early to work, Anees Bazmee revealed that this once led to a misunderstanding between them. Anees explained that Akshay Kumar thought he had a meeting time of 6 pm, but Akshay had called him in the morning. When Akshay called early that morning and said he was waiting, Anees was surprised and said it was only 5 am. Anees then realized Akshay was referring to the morning and immediately got ready to meet him.
Akshay broke his own rules for the director, did night shooting for 10 consecutive days.
While talking about Akshay Kumar’s discipline and dedication towards his directors, Anees Bazmee shared another interesting fact. He explained that although Akshay always prefers to work in the morning, due to their mutual understanding and respect, Akshay changed this rule for him. Given the demands of the film, Akshay Kumar even shot for Anees Bazmee at night for 10 consecutive days, which shows how dedicated he is to his films and directors. The highly anticipated comedy film “Keralaam” is expected to release in theaters by the end of this year.
