Alert of storm and rain in 20 states including Delhi-NCR, IMD issues big warning
New Delhi:In many parts of the country, the scorching heat and humidity for the last few days have made life difficult for people. However, now the weather seems to be in a mood to provide relief. The Meteorological Department has issued warnings regarding rain, storm and strong winds in 20 states and union territories of the country. In many areas, the weather patterns may change suddenly within the next 15 hours. While on one hand the temperature is expected to drop due to rain, on the other hand strong stormy winds can also increase the problem. In some areas, the wind speed is expected to reach 80 kilometers per hour. In such a situation, people have been advised to exercise caution.

IMD has issued an alert of storm and rain in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Kerala, Assam, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana, Meghalaya and Sikkim.
How will the weather be in Delhi-NCR today?
People of Delhi-NCR can get relief from heat and humidity soon. There is a possibility of rain with thunderstorms in many areas on June 21. During this period, strong winds can blow at a speed of 70 to 80 kilometers per hour. The maximum temperature is expected to be around 38 degrees Celsius. There may be movement of clouds in the sky from 22 to 25 June. During this period the temperature is likely to remain between 37 to 38 degrees Celsius.
How will the weather be in Uttar Pradesh today?
The maximum temperature in the capital Lucknow can reach around 41 degrees Celsius. At the same time, the weather trend will be seen changed in many districts of the state. Warning of heavy rain and bad weather has been issued in Agra, Mathura, Noida, Meerut, Kanpur, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Gorakhpur, Bijnor, Bulandshahr, Aligarh and surrounding areas.
How will the weather be in Bihar today?
The maximum temperature in Patna is likely to be around 39 degrees Celsius. The effect of strong winds and rain can be seen in many districts of the state. Winds at a speed of 65 kilometers per hour are expected in many areas including Bhojpur, Siwan, Buxar, Gaya, Nawada, Muzaffarpur, Vaishali, Darbhanga, Katihar, Purnia, Samastipur, Khagaria, Araria, Bhagalpur and Kishanganj. Along with this, possibility of heavy rain has also been expressed.
How will the weather be in Rajasthan today?
There may be some drop in temperature due to presence of clouds in Jaipur. The maximum temperature is likely to be 37 degrees and the minimum temperature is likely to be 26 degrees Celsius. An alert has been issued regarding rain and strong winds in Jodhpur, Barmer, Jaisalmer, Alwar, Sikar, Churu, Jhunjhunu, Sriganganagar, Chittorgarh, Bhilwara, Nagaur and Ajmer. Here the wind speed can reach up to 55 kilometers per hour.
How will the weather be in Madhya Pradesh today?
There are signs of people getting relief from the heat in Bhopal. The maximum temperature can be around 34 degrees and the minimum temperature can be around 27 degrees Celsius. Warning of storm, rain and strong winds has been issued in Narmadapuram, Vidisha, Khargone, Chhatarpur, Balaghat, Mandla, Neemuch, Mandsaur, Shivpuri, Agar Malwa, Rajgarh and Shajapur districts of the state. Wind speed can reach 50 kilometers per hour.

The maximum temperature in Dehradun is expected to be 35 degrees Celsius. An alert of heavy rain and strong winds has been issued in areas like Rishikesh, Haridwar, Nainital, Rudraprayag, Bageshwar, Chamoli and Pauri Garhwal. Wind speed in these areas can reach up to 60 kilometers per hour, so people have been advised to be extra cautious.

There is a possibility of rain in tourist’s favorite place Manali on June 21. It may remain cloudy throughout the day. The maximum temperature is expected to be 13 degrees and the minimum temperature will be 4 degrees Celsius. Warning of heavy rain and strong storm has also been issued in Shimla, Kullu, Solan, Kangra, Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur and Kinnaur. Here the wind speed can reach 70 kilometers per hour.
How will the weather be in Tamil Nadu today?
An alert of heavy rain has been issued in many districts of the state. There is a possibility of heavy rain and winds in Nilgiri, Coimbatore, Kanyakumari, Erode, Salem, Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri. There may be light to moderate rain in some parts of Chennai.
How will the weather be in Assam today?
The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of rain, thunderstorm and lightning in Guwahati and surrounding districts for the next two to three days. The weather may be more affected especially in the western parts of the state. During this period, there is a possibility of strong winds and bad weather.
The Meteorological Department has advised people to avoid going out in open places during bad weather, stay away from trees and electric poles and come out of the house only when necessary. Rain will definitely bring relief, but strong winds and storms can also increase problems in many areas.
