All the accused in Ram Mandir scam including Champat Rai should be arrested immediately: Sanjay Singh

Varanasi. Aam Aadmi Party’s Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh made a big revelation in a press conference held in Varanasi on Monday regarding Ram Mandir Trust, donation box theft, alleged corruption in offerings and land purchase case. Also alleged that the faith of crores of Hindus is being betrayed in the name of Lord Shri Ram. He said that after the cases of theft of crores of rupees in donations and offerings of Ram temple have come to light, now another big scam has come to light, in which Nazul land worth Rs 2 crore 92 lakh 86 thousand was purchased for Rs 24 crore. Sanjay Singh demanded an impartial investigation into the entire matter and arrest of the culprits, dissolution of the trust and handing over the responsibility to honest people.

Sanjay Singh said that today from Kashi, the land of Baba Vishwanath, he is exposing those big sinners who are committing big sins in the name of Lord Shri Ram, in the name of Ram temple and in the name of donations given by the devotees. He said that the documents issued on July 22, 2024 by the Deputy District Magistrate of Uttar Pradesh Government regarding 0.645 hectare land of Gata No. 247 of Ayodhya clearly state that it is Nazul land. Nazul land is government land and cannot be bought or sold unless it is duly freeheld.

Champat Rai bought Nazul land worth Rs 3 crore for Rs 24 crore, looted 800%

Sanjay Singh said that according to government records, the value of this land was Rs 2 crore 92 lakh 86 thousand, but it was purchased by Champat Rai, General Secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, for Rs 24 crore. He said that even if a person buys land worth Rs 3 crore for four, six, nine or twelve crore rupees, questions can be raised, but buying land worth Rs 2 crore 92 lakh directly for Rs 24 crore is open robbery of the donations of crores of devotees. This is a direct attack on the faith of Hindus and is like a stab in the back of their faith.

He said that the seller of this land is Mahant Muralidhar Das, disciple of late Baba Puran Das, while the buyer is Champat Rai, General Secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. Mithileshwar Das and Mukesh Das became witnesses in this deal. He told that the land was purchased on April 2, 2024, whereas even after that, it was declared as Nazul land in the document verified by the Deputy District Magistrate on July 22, 2024. This raises serious questions on the entire episode.

Sanjay Singh said that this is not the first case. Even before this, he had exposed the land purchase scam in Ayodhya, in which land worth about Rs 2 crore was purchased for Rs 18.5 crore within a few minutes. At that time also Champat Rai’s name had come up. After that revelation, people from the ED party abused him, called him a liar and made various kinds of allegations, but today again the same people are seen surrounded in a new scam.

He said that the figure of theft in donations and offerings of Ram temple has reached more than Rs 200 crore. More than 50 employees have been found involved in this case. During Kumbh, reports of theft of Rs 15 to 20 lakh per day came to light. So far, nine people have been arrested and cash has also been recovered from their houses. Despite this, no action is being taken against the main responsible people.

Sanjay Singh said that Mahipal Singh had revealed the theft in the donation box in the year 2021 itself, but his views were not listened to. The successor of the Trust Chairman also spoke about corruption. Vinay Katiyar, who was associated with the Ram Mandir movement, also made allegations of theft. Former BJP media in-charge Rajneesh Singh and Santosh Dubey also publicly spoke about irregularities and theft in the offerings, but no one’s point was paid heed to. Anyone who raises voice against this corruption is abused and attempts are made to defame him.

Sanjay Singh said that this trust was formed by the Government of India after the order of the Supreme Court. PMO has role and monitoring in this. Therefore, the country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi cannot escape responsibility for this entire matter. ED Party chief Modi ji should tell that where were ED and CBI when there was theft in the donation box of Lord Shri Ram, corruption in offerings, scam in purchase of land worth crores of rupees. He said that people who never had a house to live in, have today become owners of properties worth crores of rupees and are getting lifts installed in luxurious houses.

Sanjay Singh demanded that the present trust, which is surrounded by allegations of corruption and donation theft, should be dissolved immediately. All the responsible people involved in the entire episode including Champat Rai should be arrested and a fair investigation should be conducted. He said that honest, impartial and trustworthy people of the society should be given responsibility in the trust with the consent of all parties. Donation theft, land scam, looting of donation boxes and playing with the faith of devotees in the name of Lord Shri Ram will not be accepted at any cost. It is important to take this issue to every citizen of the country so that people can know how alleged corruption is being done in donations and offerings worth crores of rupees in the name of God.
