Amarnath Yatra: What changed this time in Amarnath Yatra, when the record of four decades was broken, new advice had to be issued for the devotees.
This time a different atmosphere is visible on the routes of Amarnath Yatra (Amarnath Yatra). There are long queues of devotees at the base camps since morning. People who have come from far and wide are waiting for their turn and the discussion about the journey is also intense. Amidst the increasing crowd, security arrangements appear to be more stringent than before.
The officers posted on the Yatra route are constantly busy managing the arrangements. Due to the number of devotees reaching more than expected, surveillance has been increased at every level. Meanwhile, an appeal has been made to the passengers to follow the rules and travel as per the prescribed procedure.
Natural Shivalinga disappeared before time in the cave Amarnath Yatra
The number of devotees in this year’s Amarnath Yatra has crossed the record of the last four decades. Amidst the large number of pilgrims arriving without registration and the effect of change in weather, the natural ice Shivalinga formed in the holy cave is no longer visible. Despite this, the faith of the devotees remains the same as before and people are continuously coming for darshan.
Baba Barfani was no longer visible after five days
Nearly one lakh devotees visited in the first week of the Yatra which started from July 3. However, this time the natural Shivalinga was visible only for five days. Last year it was present for seven days. Many devotees returning from the yatra expressed disappointment over the premature disappearance of Shivalinga. He says that due to reasons like increasing crowd, pollution, special entry system and rising temperature, the snow melted quickly.
Challenge of system increased due to record crowd
This time thousands of devotees are reaching Kashmir every day. Among these, there are a large number of people who are coming for the journey without registering in advance. Such passengers have to wait for a long time at the registration centres. This is also affecting those people who have to get their RFID cards. Due to the increasing crowd, handling the yatra operations and security arrangements has become a big challenge for the administration.
Nearly one lakh devotees have visited Amarnath Yatra in the first five days of the Yatra. Last year, about fifty-five thousand devotees had arrived in the first four days, whereas this time the same number increased to about eighty-six thousand. For this reason, security officials have been kept on constant alert.
New advice issued for devotees
In view of the crowd, the Yatra management has issued an advisory for the devotees. People coming without registration have been appealed to wait for their scheduled turn. The administration says that more people than the prescribed capacity cannot be allowed to travel together.
Devotees have been advised to carry valid registration documents with them, cooperate fully in the security check and reach the base camp (Amarnath Yatra) on the same date for which registration has been received. Officials said that all departments are working continuously for the convenience and safety of passengers. To keep the journey safe and orderly, everyone has been appealed to follow the guidelines.
