Amazon CEO Andy Jassy Meets PM Modi: Amazon CEO Andy Jassy is on a visit to India. Amazon CEO met PM Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Thursday. During this, he announced to invest Rs 4.1 lakh crore ($48 billion) in India. PM Modi himself shared this information on social media.

Amazon CEO further wrote – We are investing $48 billion in the coming five years, which includes $21+ billion in AI and cloud infrastructure. By 2030, we plan to support 3.8 million jobs, enable $80 billion in e-commerce exports, and bring the benefits of AI to 15 million small businesses and 4 million public school students. Excited about what’s going to happen next. It’s still early days for what we can create.

Big bet on AI

This investment by Amazon has come at a time when almost all the big tech companies in the world are spending billions of dollars in building Artificial Intelligence infrastructure. Running AI models requires large data centers, high-performance servers, and cloud infrastructure. Amazon’s cloud service AWS is already among the largest cloud companies in the world and now its capacity will be increased in India also. Indian startups, government institutions and large companies can also benefit from this investment, as they will have access to more cloud capacity and AI services within the country.
