It means the wipes could result in adverse skin reactions. FreshWipes Intimate Unscented Wipes with LOT numbers 0926 and 0515 are affected by the recall notice. The wipes were sold on the FreshWipes website, Amazon UK, TG Jones (formerly WH Smith), TikTok Shop and QVC.
FreshWipes said: “This recall is being carried out as a precautionary measure. No other Freshwipes products are affected.
“How to identify affected products: Check the batch number printed on the back of the pack. If it reads LOT 0926 or LOT 0515 the product is part of this recall.
“What to do: Please stop using the affected product immediately. If you have purchased Freshwipes Intimate Wipes from Batch LOT 0926 or LOT 0515, please contact our customer support team at Sales@freshwipes.co.uk with a photo of your remaining packs clearly showing the LOT number.
If anyone is concerned after using the product or experiences unexpected irritation or discomfort, the company urges customers to “please stop using it and seek medical advice if appropriate.”
If you bought the wipes from Amazon, QVC or TG Jones, contact them directly. The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) also issued a recall notice for the products.
It said: “It has been identified that affected batches may be microbiologically contaminated, with the preservative system not performing as required. This could result in users experiencing adverse skin reactions.”
The OPSS said anyone with the wipes should stop using them “immediately” and contact their place of purchase for instructions on returning or disposing of the product, as well as a refund or redress.
Product recall notices are issued by businesses to alert the public to products with problems that could affect consumer safety.
