Donald Trump News: US President Donald Trump has given a big statement. Donald Trump has once again said that he deserves the Nobel Peace Prize. However, he has also expressed doubts about the possibility of getting the award this year. The Norwegian Nobel Committee will announce the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize on Friday. Trump said that I do not know what his decision will be. He also raised questions on the impartiality of the Nobel Committee and said that it has such an image that perhaps it does not give this award to 'people like me'. Trump said that now the time has come.
He also said that he felt very honored to receive it indirectly from the person who received the award last time. Trump was referring to Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado, who handed over her 2025 Nobel Peace Prize medal to Trump in January 2026. Machado did this while expressing gratitude for American help in Venezuela.
Trump's claim – played an important role in ending or stopping 8 wars
Since assuming the presidency for the second time in January last year, Trump has claimed several times that he has played an important role in ending or stopping eight conflicts. He says that he should receive the Nobel Peace Prize for these efforts.
Trump has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize on behalf of Cambodia, Israel and Pakistan. However, some parties involved in the conflicts that Trump claims to have played a role in resolving have been raising questions about the US President's diplomatic role. At the same time, violence still continues in some areas including the Democratic Republic of Congo and the Cambodia-Thailand border.
Trump has not yet succeeded in ending the Russia-Ukraine war. He had promised to end this war on the very first day of his second term. Apart from this, there is tension in the region after the attacks by America and Israel on Iran, which has also affected the global energy supply.
Who is in the race for Nobel Peace Prize?
Many names are being discussed as major contenders in the race for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize, including Pope Leo, the International Criminal Court and the United Nations Special Rapporteur for the Palestinian Territories.
