Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the 7th CII Uttarakhand Industrial Summit and Expo-2026 held in Haridwar on Thursday. The Chief Minister said that apart from being a spiritual city, Haridwar has also emerged as a major center of industrial development of Uttarakhand. The Chief Minister said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, continuous work is being done to make Uttarakhand a developed, self-reliant and economically strong state. The expansion of road, rail and air connectivity has created a favorable environment for industrial and business activities in the state. Logistics facilities are also improving due to Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail project, Chardham road project and continuously improving connectivity.

The Chief Minister said that the industry-friendly policies of the state government have yielded positive results. In the last few years, more than 29 thousand new MSME units have been established in the state, through which about 1.27 lakh youth have got employment. Arrangement of 'Nivesh Mitra' has been made for quick solution to the problems of investors and entrepreneurs. Strengthening the single window system, more than 206 services of 26 major departments are being made available online.

Integrated Manufacturing Cluster developed

The Chief Minister said that the youth of the state should not only become job seekers but also become job providers to others, for this purpose startups and innovation are being specially encouraged. Along with implementing Uttarakhand Startup Policy, a venture fund of Rs 200 crore has been made to provide financial support to startups. He said that integrated manufacturing cluster is being developed in an area of ​​about 1,002 acres in Khurpiya of Udham Singh Nagar. This project will give new impetus to the industrial development of the state and create new opportunities for investment and employment.

The Chief Minister said that industrial development is not being limited to the plain areas only. Work is being done towards special industrial parks to encourage small industries in Chamoli, Pauri and Almora. To provide modern industrial facilities to small entrepreneurs, a flat factory is being developed in Haridwar and in the future, there are plans to develop such facilities in Selaqui and Pantnagar also.

The Chief Minister said that special attention is also being given to connecting the state's traditional products, handicrafts and local enterprises with the big market. Efforts are being made to give new identity to local products at the national and international level through schemes like 'One District, Two Products'. Uttarakhand is also progressing rapidly in sectors like pharma, herbal, AYUSH, engineering and auto-components.

The Chief Minister said that the industry friendly policies of the state have also been recognized at the national level. Uttarakhand has been ranked in the 'Top Achievers' category in the Business Reform Action Plan. Uttarakhand has also secured first position in its category in the Export Preparedness Index-2024. He called upon entrepreneurs and investors to take advantage of the possibilities available in Uttarakhand and become partners in investment and employment generation. He said that the state government is committed to providing safe environment, transparent system, simple procedures and better investment opportunities to the industries.
