Amidst the E20 petrol controversy, Nitin Gadkari’s challenge, said – If even one car breaks down, tell me its name.

Knews Desk- Amid the ongoing debate in the country regarding E20 petrol i.e. 20 percent ethanol mixed petrol, Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has given an open challenge to the critics. He said that if any vehicle has been damaged due to the use of E20 petrol then the name of that vehicle should be brought forward.

Questions are being raised by many vehicle owners regarding E20 fuel regarding reduced mileage, engine performance and compatibility with older vehicles. This issue is also being discussed continuously on social media. Meanwhile, Gadkari defended the government’s ethanol blending policy and said that wrong information is being spread regarding E20 petrol. The Union Minister said that so far no evidence has emerged that the engine of any car, bike or other vehicle has been damaged due to E20 petrol. He told the critics that if there is such a case then the name of the vehicle and information about the problem should be put forward.

The government says that the objective of ethanol blended petrol is to reduce the country’s dependence on crude oil imports, save foreign exchange and control pollution. Gadkari also said that increasing ethanol production has provided economic benefits to farmers and is an important step towards alternative fuel. However, consumer concerns remain regarding E20 petrol. Many drivers are claiming that they are experiencing a decrease in mileage due to ethanol blended fuel. Some people are also raising questions about the technical capability of old vehicles. According to experts, the effect of ethanol blending may depend on the vehicle model, engine technology and fuel system.

E20 petrol is part of India’s energy policy, under which the amount of ethanol in petrol is being increased. The government is calling it a step towards an environmentally friendly and self-reliant energy system, while vehicle owners are demanding answers regarding its cost and impact on vehicle performance. At present the debate is going on regarding E20 petrol. Different claims are emerging between the government and critics, while vehicle consumers wait for their experiences and technical clarity.
