Amidst the scorching heat, alert of heavy rain and storm issued in these states including UP-Delhi, know when the weather will change.

New Delhi: North India is in the grip of extreme heat these days. The sun has been shining brightly since morning, making it difficult to go out. The mercury is reaching above 40 degrees in states like Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Bihar, Haryana and Punjab.

According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), there is a possibility of heat wave in many areas of North, Central and Eastern India for the next few days, but there is news of relief in this heat. Alert of rain and strong winds has been issued in some states.

When will it rain in North India?

There is good news for people suffering from heat. There may be light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh on 23rd to 25th April and 28th April. There will be strong winds with scattered rain in Himachal Pradesh on 24, 25, 28 and 29 April and in Uttarakhand on 25, 26, 28 and 29 April.

Moderate rain with thunder, lightning and strong winds is expected in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh during April 26 to 28. Similar situation may prevail in Uttar Pradesh on 28 and 29 April. This is likely to provide some relief in the heat.

Heavy rain alert in Northeast India

There will be more rain in Northeast India this week. On April 23, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder, lightning and strong winds with a speed of 50 km per hour in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. There may be heavy rains with thunderstorms in Assam and Meghalaya from 25 to 27 April.

There is an alert of heavy to very heavy rain at some places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya from 25 to 29 April. There is a possibility of heavy rain in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura on 28-29 April.

Weather in Central and South India

In Central India, there may be light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in Chhattisgarh on 26-27 April and in Madhya Pradesh on 27 April. In South India, isolated light rain, thunderstorms and strong winds are expected in Kerala, Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rayalaseema and Tamil Nadu from April 23 to 27.

According to IMD, it is important to be cautious in rainy areas. Strong winds and lightning can cause damage. To avoid heatstroke in hot states, avoid going out in the afternoon, drink more water and wear light clothes.
