Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah addressed the ‘Shatabdi Samaroh 2026’ organized by the Akhil Vishwa Gayatri Pariwar in New Delhi to mark the 100th birth anniversary of Param Vandaniya Mataji and the manifestation of Akhand Jyoti.
Shah emphasized the significance of the centenary, stating, “The number 100 is regarded as a symbol of completeness.” He noted that the year marks the completion of the manifestations of Akhand Jyoti, the birth of Vandaniya Mataji, and the sadhana of Pujya Gurudev Pandit Shriram Sharma Acharya, describing this convergence as a milestone for Indian culture and spiritual journey.
The Home Minister remarked that Param Vandaniya Mataji undertook austerities that illuminated the path for others, and that “the flame that was lit 100 years ago has today become a symbol of welfare for countless people across more than 100 countries and in over 15 crore families.”
Referring to a four-day conference held in Haridwar earlier this year, Shah stated the Gayatri Pariwar had united around the resolve of this Jyoti. He pointed to two key events during the celebrations, including the ‘Deep Mahayajna’, which symbolizes sacrifice, cooperation and dedication, where each lamp lit serves as a pledge to use strength for society, spirituality and the nation.
Amit Shah shared his belief that the Gayatri Mantra is a path to complete transformation, saying, “It is not merely a religious or spiritual ritual. By experiencing the positive energy inherent in the mantra and enabling the mind, body and soul to realize it, it becomes a great path for bringing out the ‘sattva’ (essence) within us to the fullest.”
He explained that the 24 letters of the Gayatri Mantra are connected with 24 auspicious nodes, adding, “Taking the 24 letters of the Gayatri Mantra as the foundation and receiving the sanskar (values) of its pure pronunciation from one’s Guru, if we awaken the 24 auspicious powers, the inauspicious powers lying within us are subdued and the auspicious powers emerge.” He detailed that these 24 powers correspond to attributes such as foresight, restraint, austerity, courage, discrimination, intellect, protection, production, service, vitality, love, valor and concentration.
According to Shah, in a person where these qualities arise, the path to moksha (liberation) automatically opens, with God guiding them forward.
He paid tribute to Pandit Shriram Sharma Acharya, calling him “the doctor of our spirituality,” acknowledging his role in taking the Gayatri Mantra to millions. Shah stated, “The profound service rendered by Panditji by taking the Gayatri Mantra to the masses is as deep as the contribution made by the many sages, seekers and epoch-makers of India to Indian culture, our spiritual consciousness and the ‘sattva’ of the world.”
The Home Minister also highlighted the mantra’s benefits for youth, observing that “their positive thinking, courage and memory power have increased, their capacity for interpretation has become sharper, and their decision-making ability has also improved.”
Shah noted that the movement initiated by Gurudev has reached 15 crore families worldwide, stating, “By generating faith in the Gayatri Mantra and establishing the tradition of its pure pronunciation, he not only uplifted the lives of individuals but also gave Indian spirituality and spiritual power a new life for the next hundred years.”
He concluded by calling on everyone to continue promoting this cultural legacy, saying, “We must continue to reiterate the clarion call of the digvijaya (victory in all directions) of this divine culture that he sounded, spread it, and carry it forward to the younger generation.” Shah added, “This duty is to gather the auspicious forces of the entire world and guide the world onto the path of righteousness. We must continue this work until the last moment of our lives.”
Union Minister Durgadas Uikey, Dalnayak of Gayatri Pariwar Dr Chinmay Pandya, and other dignitaries were present at the event.
