Chittorgarh: Union Home Minister Amit Shah laid the foundation stone and inaugurated development projects in Chittorgarh. During this, he inaugurated the 21 feet high Atal statue in Nimbahera and gifted development works worth about ₹ 5,959 crore. During his address at the programme, Shah fiercely targeted the Congress, referring to the singing of 'Vande Mataram' from the ramparts of the Red Fort on Independence Day.
Shah said that the country celebrated 80th Independence Day on August 15. Like every time, this time also a grand event was organized, but this time there was a change which he considers a big change for crores of people like him. According to him, after 80 years of independence, 'Vande Mataram' was sung from the ramparts of the Red Fort.
'Congress has forgotten Vande Mataram'
Taking aim at Congress, Amit Shah said that 'Vande Mataram' is an immortal song related to the country's freedom struggle. He said that while saying this, thousands and lakhs of people accepted the noose, endured bullets and lathicharge and spent years in jail.
Shah alleged that Congress had forgotten Vande Mataram due to vote bank politics. He demanded Congress to apologize to the public for the alleged insult to the national anthem on Independence Day.
'Modi gave respect from Red Fort, Congress insulted'
The Home Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid respect to Vande Mataram from the ramparts of the Red Fort, while as per his allegation the Congress insulted the national anthem.
He also raised questions regarding the singing of Vande Mataram during the Independence Day program at the Congress headquarters. Shah claimed that during the program, senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi asked party president Mallikarjun Kharge to stop the song.
Shah said that the people of the country were watching this entire incident and asked how it could be imagined that the singing of Vande Mataram would be left incomplete.
Demand for apology from Sonia Gandhi also
While addressing Sonia Gandhi, Amit Shah said that 140 crore people of the country are watching her. He alleged that the people of the country will not accept such treatment of Vande Mataram.
Shah appealed to the Congress leaders to apologize to the people of the country and the soul of Bankim Babu for the alleged disrespect towards the immortal creation of Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay.
BJP also targeted Congress
Regarding this matter, BJP has accused top Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge of alleged disrespect during the singing of Vande Mataram during the Independence Day program at the party headquarters.
Many BJP leaders also accused Sonia Gandhi of objecting to the full singing of Vande Mataram and demanded an apology from the Congress.
However, Congress has rejected BJP's allegations. The opposition party says no attempt was made to stop the singing of the full version of the national anthem.
Also inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of development works
During the Chittorgarh program, Amit Shah also mentioned the development work of the area along with political issues. The 21 feet high Atal statue of Nimbahera was inaugurated in the programme. Apart from this, foundation stones of development projects worth about ₹5,959 crore were laid and inaugurated.
