President Draupadi Murmu thanked the world leaders who wished him on Independence Day.

New Delhi, 16 August 2026: President Draupadi Murmu has expressed gratitude to the world leaders who extended their greetings on the occasion of India's 80th Independence Day celebration. In a social media post, Maldives President Dr. Thanking Mohammed Muizzu, he said that the continuous strengthening of India-Maldives partnership is in the interest of the people of both the countries.

Responding to the greetings of Nepalese President Ramchandra Paudel, the President said that India is keen to further strengthen its special partnership with Nepal in the coming years.

The President also thanked Slovakian President Peter Pellegrini. He said that India is committed to further strengthening the partnership between the two countries.

President Draupadi Murmu also thanked Israeli President Isaac Herzog and expressed hope that the friendly relations between the people of the two countries will deepen.
