Lucknow. National President of Azad Adhikar Sena, Amitabh Thakur has demanded an independent high-level administrative inquiry into the matters related to Jal Jeevan Mission. He said that two detailed letters sent by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Lucknow to Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam (Rural) on 18/08/2026 and 27/08/2026 underline the need for serious examination at the state government level also.

Amitabh Thakur said, in the ED letter dated 18/08/2026, detailed records including RFP, contracts, technical and financial tenders, work done, payments and bills of 13 institutions/agencies related to the information, education and public relations works of Jal Jeevan Mission have been sought.

At the same time, in the letter dated 27/08/2026, administrative and financial approval, tender, DPR, contractor, quality checking agency, inspection of materials, bills, bank accounts, concerned authorities, FIR/investigation and detailed records related to financial loss and its recovery have been sought in relation to water tanks that have been declared broken, cracked, cracked, tilted or unsafe from 15/08/2019 till now.
Amitabh Thakur said that the nature of the records sought by ED raises serious questions regarding allocation of works, construction, quality checking, payment and possible financial loss in Jal Jeevan Mission. He has asked the Chief Secretary, Uttar Pradesh, to conduct an independent high-level administrative inquiry by the state government at its own level, parallel to the ED action.
