New Delhi: Protests have intensified in Delhi regarding the Ankita Bhandari murder case. Ankita's parents, demanding justice for their daughter, were taken into custody by the police, although they were released after some time. They are protesting against the decision to appoint BJP leader Dushyant Gautam as the Governor of Sikkim. After this action, Congress has also raised questions on the police and the central government. On Wednesday, Congress MPs Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra met the people protesting at India Gate. He talked to Ankita's parents and assured them of cooperation in the fight for justice.
Ankita's parents say that their protest will continue until Dushyant Gautam's appointment is withdrawn. He has given the government 24 hours to take a decision. Ankita's mother warned that if she did not get permission to stage a protest at India Gate, she would start a hunger strike at her home. At the same time, his father Virendra Singh Bhandari has demanded from the President that the appointment of Dushyant Gautam should be put on hold until the CBI investigation of the case is completed.
Ankita Bhandari was murdered in 2022
The famous Ankita Bhandari murder case of Uttarakhand had caught the attention of the entire country in the year 2022. Ankita used to work in a resort. His body was recovered from Chilla Canal four days after the murder. Resort owner Pulkit Arya and his two employees Saurabh Bhaskar and Ankit Gupta were convicted in this case. The court had sentenced all three to life imprisonment.
