Dirty Water Chutney Exposed Raid: Nowadays everyone likes to eat fast food, be it children, youth or elders. In the earlier times, people used to like simple food, whereas nowadays people mostly like to eat things from the market. Often people eat momos and red chutney with great relish from the carts in the evening. It tastes very delicious while eating, due to which people eat to their fill. But people do not know how these momos and red chutney are prepared and how the shop owner makes them.
To expose this truth, the Food Safety and Drug Administration Department in Kanpur launched a campaign to check the cleanliness of momo shops in the city. During the campaign, the department found that many hotel operators were preparing momos and red chutney using dirty water and storing them in unsanitary conditions. According to reports, approximately 115 kilograms of spoiled red chutney was destroyed during the department’s action. The department will further examine samples of the momos and chutney.

According to reports, a campaign was launched in the city on the instructions of District Magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh. As part of this campaign, officials visited street vendors and inspected their cleanliness and hygiene. The departmental team first inspected hotels serving momos in the Rawatpur, Saket Nagar, and Maswanpur areas. The team then visited Akash Momos and Balaji Momos.
Here, the team thoroughly inspected the quality and hygiene of the food. At all locations, it was found that the momos and red chutney served to the public were prepared with dirty water and stored in unsanitary conditions, leading officials to declare them a health hazard for those consuming them.

An inspection at Shri Balaji Momos in Rawatpur revealed major irregularities. The shop was operating without the required food registration. It was filthy and poorly maintained. Consequently, officials immediately closed the shop. Instructions have been issued that the shop will not reopen until it is registered and the cleanliness issues are addressed.

The most significant negligence found during the inspection was the momo chutney. Food safety officials found the chutney stored in extremely unsanitary conditions at several locations, raising suspicions of poor quality. Officials have sent samples for testing.
