Administration cracks down on illegal clinics and testing centres, three institutions sealed
Siwan. The district administration has taken a big decision by taking strict action against illegally running health institutions.
On the orders of District Magistrate Vivek Ranjan Maitreya, in the presence of nominated magistrates under the leadership of SDM Ashutosh Gupta, Aman Clinic, Krishna Ultrasound and Vikas Diagnostic Center running in Block Andar were sealed with immediate effect.
In the investigation report of Sub-Divisional Officer, Siwan Sadar, all these institutions have been found to be completely illegal under the Clinical Establishment Act 2010.
The investigation revealed that these establishments were operating without registration and were openly violating sections 11, 37 and 38 of the Act. Along with this, Bihar Clinical Establishment Rules 2013 and the minimum standards set by the Central Government were also not being followed.
Many serious irregularities came to light during the investigation. These include treatment by unqualified personnel, lack of life-saving equipment, negligence in medical waste management and disregard for fire safety standards.
The administration has described it as a serious threat to the health and life of the general public. The district administration made it clear that giving show cause notice in such cases may affect public interest, hence sealing action is being taken without prior notice.
Citing previous orders of the Patna High Court, it was said that illegal testing houses and diagnostic centers cannot be allowed to operate.
As per the instructions of the DM, these three institutions were sealed on Friday in the presence of nominated magistrates. During the sealing, it was ensured that the admitted patients were safely sent to nearby legitimate hospitals and the entire operation was videographed.
The concerned operators have been given an opportunity to present their views till 27 April 2026. If documents are not submitted within the stipulated time, strict legal action will be taken by taking unilateral decision.
