Punjab Police busts smuggling racket, two smugglers arrested with heroin worth Rs 450 crore

Chandigarh. The Counter Intelligence Wing of Punjab Police has busted the cross-border smuggling racket and seized 64.62 kg of heroin worth Rs 450 crore and arrested two smugglers. This gang was being run by Pakistani smuggler Musa.

Musa came into limelight in India a few years ago when Customs recovered 532 kg of heroin from a goods train at Attari-Bagha border here. Punjab Police Director General Gaurav Yadav said on Saturday that the State Special Operation Cell of the Counter Intelligence Wing of Punjab Police in Amritsar has carried out this operation.

He told that police investigation revealed that this heroin was imported from Pakistan, which was now to be supplied further. The police have caught him before. Investigation has also revealed that this network is connected to the handlers sitting abroad and the Musa Gang of Pakistan. This gang was smuggling drugs from across the border and supplying them to Punjab and other states.
