Poachers are not well in Sanjay Gandhi Udyan, forest department keeps an eye on every nook and corner

Mumbai . The Thane-based forest department has taken strict steps to stop wildlife hunting in the Thane forest area, including the Sanjay Gandhi National Park area. In view of some recent poaching incidents, the department has started keeping a close watch on suspicious activities in the forest by conducting ‘Anti Snare Combing Operation’.

During this operation, special teams conducted thorough investigations in the most remote areas of the forest. Traps, traps or other illegal devices used to trap wild animals were found and removed. Along with this, a strategic policy has been made to prevent future threats by recording sensitive places.

This campaign Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) West. , Mumbai started under the guidance of Jitendra Ramgaonkar. Volunteers from Wildlife Welfare Association (WWA) and Rescue Association for Wildlife Welfare (RAWW) along with local forest officials actively participated in this operation of the Forest Department. With their cooperation, recognizing small movements in the forest and taking timely action has become more effective.

It is said that the main objective of this campaign is to stop poaching of wildlife, save their habitat and maintain the balance of biodiversity. The special thing is that the Forest Department has decided to run such trap search campaigns regularly, which is expected to effectively stop the anti-social elements involved in poaching. This campaign was successfully conducted under the leadership of Deputy Conservator of Forests (Thane), Assistant Conservator of Forests (Private Wildlife, Thane), Forest Range Officer Thane and Forest Range Officer Yeoor.
