Assembly elections: Kamal in Bengal, Assam, Puducherry, Vijayaratha in Tamil, Congress in Kerala.
New Delhi . In the assembly elections held in five states, the Bharatiya Janata Party has got a huge majority in West Bengal. With this, another state was added to BJP’s account. BJP and NDA governments have returned to power in Assam and Puducherry. There is going to be a change of power in the two big southern states, Kerala and Tamil Nadu. The Congress-led alliance has returned in Kerala after 10 years, ousting the Left parties. Actor Vijay’s party TVK, formed a year ago, has become the largest party in Tamil Nadu.
The figures till 8 pm on the website of the Election Commission are as follows –
west bengal
West Bengal needs 147 seats for majority on 293 seats. Bharatiya Janata Party is winning or leading in 206 seats, Trinamool Congress 81, Congress 2, CPI(M) one and others one seat. BJP got 45.75 percent votes, Trinamool Congress got 40.82 percent votes.
Tamil Nadu
In Tamil Nadu, 118 seats are required for majority out of 234 seats. Here TVK is leading on 106 seats, DMK on 60 seats, AIADMK on 47 seats, PMK on 5 seats, Congress on 5 seats. BJP has won one seat and other parties have won or are leading in 11 seats. TVK got 34.91 percent votes, DMK got 24.19 percent votes, AIADMK got 21.32 percent votes.
Assam
There are 126 seats in Assam and 64 seats are required for majority. The BJP-led alliance has won or is leading on 102 seats. In this, BJP has won 82 seats, Bodo People’s Front 10 seats and Assam Gana Parishad has won or increased 10 seats. Whereas Congress has won or gained 19 seats, AIUDF 2, Raijor Dal 2, Trinamool Congress 1 seat.
Here, the largest party BJP has got 37.91 percent votes, allies Bodoland has got 3.74 percent votes and AGP has got 6.46 percent votes. From the perspective of the alliance, this figure is more than 48 percent.
Kerala
The Congress-led UDF alliance in Kerala has reached the figure of 97. In this, Congress has won or led on 63 seats, Indian Union Muslim League on 22, Kerala Congress on 7 seats, Revolutionary Socialist Party on 3, Rashtriya Janata Dal on 1 seat and others. The alliance led by the Left parties has gained lead on 36 seats. In the alliance, Communist Party of India (Marxist) has won or led on 26 seats, Communist Party of India 8, Revolutionary Marxist Party of India, Communist Marxist Party Kerala State Committee 1 seat each. Among other parties, Bharatiya Janata Party is leading at 3 and other candidates at 4.
Puducherry
The figure required for majority in 30 seats of Puducherry is 16. Here All India N.R. The Congress-led alliance put in a strong performance and won a total of 18 seats. In this, the party has won 12 seats, ally Bharatiya Janata Party has won 4 seats, All India Anna Dravid Munnetra Kazhagam and Lachia Jannayak Katchi have won 1 seat each. If we talk about other parties, DMK has got 6 seats and Congress has got 1 seat. TVK got success on 2 seats, Neyam Makkal Kazhagam got success on 1 seat. Apart from this, 3 independent candidates have won.
by-election
The results of the assembly by-elections have also come in favor of BJP. The party has won four out of seven. Its ally party’s candidate has won one seat. Congress has won both the seats in Karnataka.
In the by-elections of seven assembly seats in five states, Sunetra Pawar of Nationalist Congress Party has won from Baramati seat of Maharashtra by a huge margin. BJP candidate Akshay Cardile has won from Rahuri, BJP candidate Harshadbhai Govindbhai Parmar has won from Umreth seat of Gujarat. BJP candidate Daochir I. Imchen has won Koridang seat of Nagaland, BJP candidate Jahar Chakraborty has won Dharmanagar seat of Tripura. Congress candidate Umesh Hullappa has won the Bagalkot seat in Karnataka, while Congress candidate Samarth Shamanur Mallikarjun has won the Davangere South seat.
