- With the theme of ‘Human Fraternity’, the newly formed executive resolved to give a new direction to the service work.
Ghaziabad. A dignified seminar was organized on the occasion of World Red Cross Day by the newly constituted Executive Committee of Indian Red Cross Society, Ghaziabad Branch. The program was presided over by District Magistrate Ravindra Kumar Mondad. On this occasion, newly appointed Chairman Dr. Anjul Aggarwal, Secretary Dr. Kiran Garg, Deputy CMO and members of the Executive Committee were present.
The program started by paying floral tributes to the portrait of John Henry Dunant, the founder of the Red Cross Society. It is noteworthy that World Red Cross Day is celebrated every year on 8th May on the occasion of the birthday of John Henry Dunant. The theme of this year was ‘Human Fraternity’, through which the message of service, cooperation and sensitivity was given. During this, District Magistrate Ravindra Kumar Mondad instructed Secretary Dr. Kiran Garg and Chairman Dr. Anjul Aggarwal to prepare a new action plan of Red Cross and present it soon.
He said that there are many people in the society who want to help the needy, but they do not get the right medium and access to the real needy. In such a situation, the role of organizations like Red Cross becomes very important. He said that the Red Cross, through its service activities, will have to establish confidence among the general public that the funds received by the organization are used with complete transparency, honesty and sensitivity for the needy and in emergency situations.
Ravindra Kumar Mondad called upon social organizations, competent institutions and citizens to come forward to strengthen the Red Cross, so that assistance can be provided to as many needy people as possible. He expressed confidence that the newly formed Executive Committee will play an important role in taking the activities of Red Cross in Ghaziabad to new heights.
Many dignitaries including Red Cross Ghaziabad branch brand ambassador Dr. Richa Sood, executive member Dr. Baliga, Sheel Verma, Tushar Jain, Poonam Sharma, Dharamveer Gupta, Vinod Kumar, Major Dr. Prachi Garg were present in the program.
