Government gave 3 big good news, now 50% assured pension on retirement
Mumbai Maharashtra government has made important changes in the pension system, giving great relief to government employees. Now employees covered under the National Pension System (NPS) will also be able to get the benefit of fixed pension. The state government has decided to implement the new revised pension system, which is considered to be largely similar to the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) of the central government. After this decision, employees will be assured of fixed income after retirement.
Will get 50% pension after 20 years of service
Under the new system, if an employee has served 20 years or more, then at the time of retirement, 50 percent of his last basic salary will be given as pension. Not only this, dearness allowance i.e. DA will also be added to this pension. This can further increase the monthly income of the employees.
Relief to those who have served for 10 years
The government has also given relief to those employees whose service period is between 10 to 20 years. Such employees will get proportionate pension according to their service period. Those who have worked for at least 10 years have been guaranteed a minimum pension of Rs 7,500 per month. However, employees with less than 10 years of service will not get the benefit of this scheme.
The family will also get support
Provision for family pension has also been made in the new scheme. If an employee dies, his family will be given 60 percent of the total pension of the employee. The government says that this will provide financial security to the families of the employees.
Option will have to be given till 31 December 2026
The government has given time till December 31, 2026 to the employees to choose the new pension scheme. Only those employees who give their consent by this date will be able to avail the benefits of this scheme.
