Sweden honored Prime Minister Modi with ‘Royal Order of Polar Star’
gothenberg . Prime Minister Narendra Modi was honored with the prestigious ‘Royal Order of the Polar Star – Commander Grand Cross’ during his visit to Sweden. This honor is considered to be one of Sweden’s highest international honors given to any head of government.
This honor ceremony was held in Gothenburg, where Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden presented this honor to Prime Minister Modi. Sweden’s Prime Minister Ulf Christerson was also present on this occasion.
According to reports, this is the 31st international honor received by Prime Minister Modi. It was decided on behalf of the Royal Family of Sweden that he should be honored with this honor for his contribution in strengthening relations between India and Sweden and increasing cooperation in various fields.
The ‘Order of the Polar Star’ was instituted in the year 1748. This honor is given to those individuals who have made significant contributions to Sweden or areas related to its interests.
During this, Prime Minister Modi and his Swedish counterpart also exchanged special gifts reflecting cultural and historical ties. It was told that in these gifts, importance was given to aspects related to intellectual and cultural relations between India and Sweden.
Prime Minister Modi has reached Sweden in the third phase of his five-nation tour. During the visit, the leaders of the two countries are likely to discuss trade, investment, technology and other areas of bilateral cooperation.
Apart from this, Prime Minister Modi and Prime Minister Christerson are also going to participate in the European Round Table for Industry event, where topics related to trade and global economic cooperation will be discussed.
