President Murmu to present President Police Color Award ‘Nishan’ to Sikkim Police today
Gangtok,. President Draupadi Murmu will present the President’s Police Color Award ‘Nishan’ to Sikkim Police on Thursday. Sikkim Police will be honored amid a grand investiture ceremony to be held at Paljor Stadium in the capital.
President Draupadi Murmu’s three-day official visit to Sikkim ends today. On the last day, the President will present the President of India’s Police Color Award ‘Nishan’ to Sikkim Police. This award is being given to Sikkim Police for their commendable service towards the people of the state. Sikkim is the 15th state in the country to receive this award.
It is noteworthy that the President had reached Gangtok on May 26 on a three-day visit. On the first day he visited the Orchidarium at the Maitreya Manjari Complex in the capital, which marks the golden jubilee of the state. The same day he visited the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology in Deorali, near the capital.
On Tuesday, the second day of the visit, the President inaugurated the Pink City Runner bus service. This bus service has been started by the Government of Sikkim keeping women in mind. President Murmu attended the seventh convocation of Sikkim Central University yesterday. His morning visit to Nathula, the India-China border area, was canceled due to bad weather.
