NCA will organize training camp for Pakistani players

Pakistan Cricket: Pakistan Cricket Board is going to organize a special training camp for Pakistani cricketers at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore. The camp for players playing Test matches (red-ball) will start from Monday (June 8), while ODI and T20 (white-ball) players will reach the academy on June 15. After this both these camps will run together. The Test team camp will continue till July 10, after which another small camp will be organized for the players before leaving for the West Indies tour.

White ball camp will run till 18th September
The Test team players selected for the West Indies series will leave on July 15. At the same time, the camp of ODI and T20 team will continue till 18th September. After this, Pakistan has to participate in the Asian Games to be held in Japan. Then Pakistan team will play a triangular ODI series with Sri Lanka and England at home. Pakistani players will prepare for both these series in the training camp.

49 players will take part in this camp
Pakistan’s red-ball (Test) and white-ball (ODI/T20) head coaches, Sarfaraz Ahmed and Mike Hesson will oversee these training camps. This camp will start with a total of 49 players, out of which 22 players have been selected for the Test team and 27 players for the ODI/T20 team. NCA may also include some more players in this camp later. The players who have contracts to play with the county teams of England this year have not been kept in this camp yet. However, if he is considered for inclusion in the national team in future, then he can also be called in the last days of the camp.

Shaheen Afridi can take part in both camps
Pakistan ODI captain Shaheen Shah Afridi has been selected among the initial 27 white-ball players but is expected to also work on his Test cricket bowling next month. Shaheen and other players who played the recent ODI series against Australia will be a part of this camp from June 15. Let us tell you that Pakistan recently played a three-match ODI series against Australia at home. They won 2-1 in this series.
