More than 13 kg of ganja recovered in Raipur, four including two interstate smugglers arrested
Raipur. North Zone of Raipur Police Commissionerate has taken major action against ganja smuggling. On Wednesday, Gudhiyari, Pandari and Urla police jointly arrested 4 accused of ganja smuggling, transporting and selling ganja red-handed. Out of the 4 accused arrested, 2 accused are from interstate.
While disclosing the case, North Zone DCP Mayank Gurjar said that the police has raided 3 police station areas of Raipur Commissionerate and arrested 4 accused, out of which 2 accused are residents of Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, whose names are Akash Raikwad and Dheeraj Raikwad. The two accused are from different police station areas of Raipur, whose names are Santram Nishad and Kamlesh Patel.
The team of Gudhiyari police station raided near the vegetable market under the over bridge located at Kabir Chowk. 9 kg 866 grams of ganja was seized from the possession of interstate accused Akash Raikwad and Dheeraj Raikwad, whose value is approximately Rs 4 lakh 93 thousand.
On June 17, under the leadership of police station in-charge Pandri, a raid was conducted near Daldal Seoni garbage warehouse where Kamlesh Patel, resident of Pandri Raipur, accused of selling ganja, was arrested. 2 kg 285 grams of ganja has been seized from his possession. Whose price is approximately Rs 1 lakh 20 thousand.
Under the leadership of police station in-charge Urla, action was taken near Budhwari market located in Birgaon. The accused Santram Nishad resident of Urla Raipur was caught while selling ganja. 1 kg 300 grams of ganja worth approximately Rs 53 thousand was found in his possession. 13.451 kg of ganja has been seized from the possession of the accused. The total value of the seized Mashrooka is approximately Rs 6 lakh 72 thousand 550. Action has been taken against the accused under Narcotic Act in Urla, Gudhiyari and Pandari police stations.
