Heavy rain warning in northwest, northeast India
New Delhi. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of heavy rain in northwest and northeast India in the coming days. Meanwhile, heat wave is also likely to continue in the north-eastern states including Bihar and some parts of Uttar Pradesh.
According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of partly cloudy sky in Delhi-NCR on June 26 and light rain with strong winds in the afternoon and evening. On this day, the maximum and minimum temperatures in Delhi are likely to be between 39-41 degrees Celsius and 25-27 degrees Celsius respectively. The situation is expected to remain the same on June 27 and 28.
It is noteworthy that today the capital would be partly cloudy and light rain with strong winds and thunderstorms was expected in the afternoon and evening. At present, the residents of the capital have felt the warmth in today’s weather.
According to the Meteorological Department, conditions are favorable for the advance of Southwest Monsoon into parts of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand in the next 3-4 days. According to weather officials, heavy rains continue in the northeastern states. Apart from this, there is a possibility of heavy rain (7-20 cm) in the North-Eastern states as well as in the West Coast, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and other areas this week. At the same time, there is a possibility of heat wave in Eastern Uttar Pradesh in the next 3-4 days and in Bihar and Jharkhand in the next 2 days.
There is a possibility of widespread to heavy rain in North-West India during June 25-30 and July 1 in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh during June 30 to July 1 and Uttarakhand during June 29 to July 1. Apart from this, there has been a warning of widespread rainfall in eastern Uttar Pradesh during June 30 to July 1.
During this period, heavy and light rainfall is expected at some places in Central India, Eastern India, North-Eastern India, Western India and South Peninsular India during the next five days. There are chances of stormy winds in these areas during the next six days whose speed can range from 40 to 70-80 kilometers per hour.
There is a strong possibility of heat wave at some places in Bihar during June 25, Jharkhand during June 25-26 and eastern Uttar Pradesh during June 25-28. Also, severe heat wave conditions may occur at some places during June 25-27.
In North-West India, the maximum temperature is likely to rise by 2-3 degrees Celsius till the 28th and then fall by 3-5 degrees Celsius, whereas in Central India, the maximum temperature is likely to rise by 2-4 degrees Celsius till the 28th and there will be no significant change thereafter. There is no possibility of any significant change in the maximum temperature in the remaining parts of the country till July 1.
