Nalanda: Youth dies due to collision with speeding e-rickshaw, villagers block road in protest

Nalanda. A 35-year-old youth died in a road accident on Friday in Harnaut police station area of ​​the district. The accident happened near Dehrigarh village on Bakhtiyarpur-Rajauli four lane, where a young man standing outside his house was hit hard by a speeding and uncontrolled e-rickshaw.

The seriously injured youth was immediately taken to the hospital, but he died during treatment. After the incident, the villagers placed the dead body on the road and blocked it. The deceased has been identified as Nitish Kumar, 35-year-old son of Pramod Mahato, resident of Dehrigarh village.

It is said that Nitish Kumar was standing next to his house. Meanwhile, the high speed e-rickshaw coming to Harnaut from Bakhtiyarpur suddenly went out of control and hit them hard.

The collision was so severe that Nitish fell several feet away and was seriously injured. With the help of local people, he was immediately taken to Kalyanbigha Referral Hospital, where after first aid, he was referred in view of his critical condition. However, he died during treatment.

Harnaut police station incharge Inspector Mukesh Kumar Verma said that one person has died in the accident. The e-rickshaw driver has been caught from the spot and the jam has been ended after convincing the people.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that the driver was in an intoxicated state. Police have seized the e-rickshaw and the driver is being detained and interrogated.

The police station chief said that the process of conducting post-mortem of the dead body is going on. After receiving the application from the family members, legal action will be taken. The police is busy investigating the entire matter.
