Dehradun: As part of the campaign being run to curb crime and disorder, special checking is being done at hotels, dhabas and public places. Meanwhile, the police took action against illegal consumption of liquor in the hotel.
Patelnagar police station has arrested the hotel operator for serving liquor to customers without license and permit in a hotel located in Transport Nagar. At the same time, 79 people who were drinking alcohol in public places and on the roadside were detained and disciplinary action was taken against them under the Police Act.
Patelnagar police station in-charge Vinod Gusain said that as part of the campaign being run to curb crime and disorder in the district, special checking is being done at hotels, dhabas and public places. Told that the police team raided Hotel Tandoor Night located in Transport Nagar. Investigation found that people were being made to sit in the hotel and serve liquor without a valid license or permit. Open liquor bottles and disposable glasses were also recovered from the spot.
